Participates in implementing the goals and strategic plan of the Risk Management and Patient Safety Institute. Provides proactive marketing of Risk Management and Patient Safety products and services to policyholders, prospective policyholders and fee based clients.
Performs risk management educational programs and patient safety consultation which includes on-site assessments and telephone advice focusing on risk identification and risk reduction implementation strategies.
Exercises discretionary judgment and utilizes appropriate evidence-based information when acting as a resource and provides direction/consultation/education to policyholders and fee based clients.
Consults with policyholders and prospective policyholders to review and analyze relevant risk exposure data offering unique and practical solutions appropriate to the setting and develops a customized risk service plan/proposal and consultation.
Maintains technical and professional expertise in order to provide current, innovative, customer-focused risk management and patient safety consultation/education. Able to speak at a regional level (e.g., State Risk Management organizations) and develops risk management and patient safety materials at a professional publication level (e.g., new manual chapters, new assessment tools).
Documents all client and potential client interactions and service, within defined time frames, utilizing the appropriate information location.
Develops and updates materials as assigned utilizing current and professional resources. Able to independently research and develop new consulting and educational tools.
Maintains collaborative, professional, consultative customer-orientated relationships with internal and external customers; is a team player. Delivers exceptional customer service. Able to manage diverse, specialized and large accounts with high-level of customer satisfaction.
Collaborates with marketing staff to identify, develop and implement industry-leading risk management and patient safety products, education and services.
Ability to organize, prioritize, communicate and meet established deadlines.
Produces accurate, quality and professional consulting reports, tools and education materials.
Efficiently manages a busy travel schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a health related field, or RN preferred.
One to five years background in healthcare risk management, quality assurance, health law, or other related healthcare experience required.
Insurance company experience a plus.
Should be familiar with physician offices, managed care and/or healthcare systems and procedures; have a working knowledge of medical records; excellent research, writing and communications skills; experience with public speaking; ability to think on his/her feet; professional in manner and appearance; flexible; well organized and creative.
Must be proficient with PowerPoint and Microsoft Word. Travel, up to 50% of the time including overnight, is required.
